Role: Tinkerer, Coder, Troubleshooter, Electrician, and Designer

Challenge: To have my personal passion for efficiency to be expressed in automating lights and other features of our home.

Impact: I’ve created a variety of sensors around my home as well as locally-controlled IoT devices with custom firmware that allows our home to be more energy-efficient and convenient. Below are a variety of those projects deployed in my home.

Programmable multi-colored nightlight powered by an ESP-01s board

Home Assistant dashboard, running in a Docker container. This is an overview of all the devices that are connected via local control.

Node-Red visual coding, running in a Docker container for creating flows. Some nodes utilized Javascript, while others interact with JSON objects and JSONata formatting.

Various sensors around my home, mostly 3D printed housings with PIR AM312 sensors and ESP32/ESP8266 wireless modules flashed with ESPHome customized firmware.
